Joann Ribble Ferreri

Joann Ribble Ferreri peacefully passed on October 28, 2017 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's disease. She showed grit and determination to the end, despite numerous physical ailments. She was always a Lady who enjoyed her weekly Bridge game until October.

Joann was born on July 23, 1932, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Josephine Heaton Ribble and Norman Carson Ribble. Less than a year later, her brother, Norman Carson Ribble, Jr. was born. The family eventually moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Joann spent the majority of her life. She graduated from Highland High School and attended Hardin Simmons University and the University of New Mexico. In 1954 she married J. Ronald Ferreri and her two children, Ronald Stephen Ferreri and Candyce Ferreri Roybal were born to that union. In 2007 Joann moved to Midland, Texas to be closer to her daughter's family. Manor Park was her home for 10 years, first at Helen Greathouse and then Cowden Cottage. She enjoyed her time in both places. Joann loved people and leaves behind many friends who she dearly cherished. She was proud to be a Sustainer Emeritus of the Albuquerque Junior League, was a founding member and past president of the Thursday's Literary Club and also belonged to the Daughters of the Nile. Some of her favorite memories were times with of all her friends in her "non-playing" Bridge Group and at the Albuquerque County Club.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents Josephine and N.C. Ribble, and niece Raulee Ribble. She is survived by her son Ronald Stephen Ferreri and wife Becky of Albuquerque, daughter Candyce Ferreri Roybal and husband Leonard of Midland; brother Norman Ribble and wife Dottie of Elephant Butte, New Mexico; beloved grandchildren Zachary Roybal and wife Lauren and Chloe Roybal, all of Midland; step granddaughters, Laura Montoya and her son Cruz Gallardo of Albuquerque, and Angelica Pack and husband Brent of Gilbert, Arizona along with their two sons Evan and Bodhi; nieces Robin Harder and husband Kyle of Albuquerque, Renee Hall and husband James of St. Louis, Missouri, and nephew Carson Ribble and wife Leeanne of Brighton, Colorado. Joann also is survived by numerous cousins whom she deeply loved. Most of these family members helped celebrate her 85th birthday in July.

The family would like to thank the staff at Helen Greathouse, Mabee Rehab and the Cowden Cottage for their loving care, she dearly loved them all. Also thanks go out to Dr. Anna Francisco; Dr. John Foster, Dr. John McKenna and Dr. Gerardo Escobedo for their care of our mother. A Memorial Service will be held on December 2, 2017, at 10 am, Central Methodist Church in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Joann's memory to Manor Park, Inc., 2208 N. Loop 250 W, Midland, TX 79707 or Central United Methodist Church, 210 University Ave, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
