Stutzman, John

John Stutzman was born and raised in Orrville, Ohio, the youngest child of Earl and Georgia Stutzman. He served on the 1st Marine Air Support Radar Team in the Korean War. On his way to the west coast, he stopped in Albuquerque and stayed, making his home in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. He was a land surveyor, spending most of his career at the New Mexico State Highway Department as a field crew chief.

In the spring of 1982, John met the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Johnston, on a blind date. They were together through laughter and sorrow, in sickness and in health, until her passing in September 2014. They cherished their friends and blended family, traveled nationally and internationally, enjoyed great books and music, volunteered their time, & loved each other dearly.

John was a genial host and tour guide who loved sharing the beauties of New Mexico, an excellent cook, faithful neighbor and friend. He was an ardent conservationist and outdoorsman, dividing his charitable giving between philanthropic and environmental organizations.

John is survived by his daughter Marlene Stutzman, and Pat's children Paul Johnston, Bill Johnston, Jim Johnston, and Dottie Vigil, together with their spouses, children and grandchildren.
