John T. Haynes Obituary
Haynes, John T.

John Tennyson Haynes, age 78, died of congestive heart failure on May 4, 2016, at University of New Mexico Hospital.

John was born in his family home on June 19, 1937, in Plain City, Ohio, to parents Paul and Thelma Haynes. He graduated from Plain City High School in 1955 and from the College of Wooster in 1959. John was navigator in the Navy Air Force at Midway Island from 1961-1965. He moved to Albuquerque in 1965 to be closer to his sister, Elisabeth, and her family and he has lived there since.

John was a loving brother and uncle. His New Mexico family has a hard time admitting that John remained a diehard Ohio State fan, but he also loved the Lobos and attended many basketball and volleyball games and gymnastics tournaments.

John is survived by his sister, Paula Williams, of Plain City, Ohio; his brother, Paul Haynes, of Naples, Florida; his brother-in-law, Maurice Hartle, of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul (1972) and Thelma (1981) Haynes, of Plain City, Ohio, and his sister, Elisabeth Haynes Anderson Hartle (2002), of Albuquerque.

There will be an informal memorial for John on Saturday, July 16, 3:00pm, at the Flying Star Cafe on Rio Grande Blvd., where John enjoyed many cups of coffee.
