Mr. Lucero, 88, passed away July 15, 2016.

Mr. Lucero served his country in the Army during World War II.

Jose was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Irene.

Jose is survived by sons, Jesse Lucero and his wife Barbara, Anthony Lucero and friend Don Valder; sisters, Inez Fought and Dorothy Duran; brothers Richard Griego and Melecio Griego and his wife Lydia; grandchildren Jesse Lucero Jr. and wife Trish, James Lucero and wife Yvonne, Katheryn Lucero, Nicole Lucero and Alex, Jacquelin Ruiz and husband John; great-grandchildren Jesse III, Andrew, Dominic, Katrina, Naomi, Mario, Marley, Jhene, Tyler, and Allen; brother-in-law Max Tafoya and wife Fabiola; niece Veronica Sanchez who was raised as a granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; special friend Abi Ritz; and friend Martin Devricks.

Jose Lucero's Life Celebration will begin with a viewing on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life® Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE). The Mass will be held Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Burial will follow at San Carlos Cemetery.
