Jose A. (Billy) Santillanes

Jose A. (Billy) Santillanes, age 97, passed on to Heaven on Monday, February 20, 2018 to be with his Lord and Savior. He served his family and his country in WWII proudly. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ellen Santillanes; daughters, Audrey Guerra, Jo Ann and son-in-law Johnny Rael, Benerita (Bennie) Romero; son, David and wife Marlene Santillanes; Frederic Santillanes, Ronald Santillanes, Jenell Flamenco, Jason Rodarte, and Andrea Santillanes. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Santillanes, Orlando Santillanes; and sister, Victoria Armijo. Jose has five generations of descendents, 20 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids, and six great-great-grandkids. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Santillanes and twins, Freddy and Eddie Santillanes. Jose was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and UNM Lobos.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 8:00 am, with Mass to follow at 9:00 am, at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church at 1860 Griegos Rd NW, Albuquerque NM, 87107. Burial will be held at 1:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Urn bearers will be Donald, Jude, Solomon, Rico, Santillanes, Jason Rodarte, Robert Guerra, and Marc Lovato. Honary urn bearers will be Kenneth, Anthony, Joseph, Eddie, Santillanes.

The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and caregivers of Heritage Health Care.
