Joseph Trinidad Garcia â€" "Joe's" home was in Tome, New Mexico where he lived with his wife, dogs, cats and other friends. Joe went to his spiritual life working on his land, with his dogs by his side, on Monday, January 9, 2017. Joe was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tome, N.M. where he attended daily mass. Joe was a member of Mision San Juan Diego in Meadowlake, N.M., and member of the Native American Catholic Community and Kateri Circles of New Mexico. He attended meetings at Queen of Angels Kateri Circle and Isleta Kateri Circle, as well as meetings throughout New Mexico and Arizona. Joe was very proud to be a Secular Franciscari (S.F.O.) professed on February 25, 1997. Joe was one month from his 20 year anniversary. He also belonged to many religious organizations on line and through the mail. Knights of the Immaculada, Padre Pio, Marian Priests of Stockbridge (Divine Mercy), St. Therese of Lisieux to name of few.

Joe is preceded in death by his dad, Trinidad Garcia (September 11, 2001); and mom, Louella Roybal Garcia (June 25, 2010); Joe's sister Judy (November 27, 1997); Uncles Eloy (Moe) Roybal and Henry Martinez; Joe's mother-in-law, Mary Frances Rooney Sharkey (2011); and sister-in-law Carol Mitchell (2012).

Joe is survived by his best friend forever, Rosemary Encinias Garcia (married 17 years, almost 18, on February 12, 1999). Joe's family who he loved so much, sisters, Jackie, Janet, and Jessica; brothers, John and James and their wives and husbands, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who he enjoyed communicating with on facebook, through phone calls, and family gatherings. Joe's aunt Luisa; Uncles Reuben, Ralph and Michael; also many friends, Father Jose Hernandez at Immaculate Conception in Tome, Father Francisco Alanis O.S.B. Mision San Juan Diego in Meadowlake, Padrinas Tracy; Ernestine Hall and Frank Sandoval; Kateri Circle friends from Native American Catholic Community; Secular Franciscan friends from Saint Anthony; Franciscan Fraternity; African American Catholic community friends; Canossian Spirituality Center Sisters and friends. Joe will be deeply missed by these dear family and friends.

Public viewing to be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m, Rosary at 11:00 a.m., funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church of Tome off of Highway 47. Interment at Mount Clavary Catholic Cemetery â€" Deacon Faustin Archuleta â€" 1900 Edith Blvd N.E., Albuquerque, N.M. 87102, 505-243-0218, directly following mass. Pallbearers will be Jonathan and James Garcia (brothers); Adrian and Aaron Garcia (nephews); Ricky Cordova (cousin); and Frank Sandoval (friend).
