Larry Roger Gonzales Smith, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016. He was born to Epifanio Gonzales Jack Smith and Ricarda "Ricky" Bernal Smith, on September 12, 1964, in Roswell, New Mexico.

As a proud New Mexican, Larry graduated from Albuquerque's Valley High School and The University of New Mexico. Most recently Larry was Development Director at KANW-FM where he was the face and voice of the station's successful fund raising and public relations. Before that he was Vice President and Senior Director of Government Relations, at Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. Larry was also Aide to New Mexico Senator Jeff Bingham. He loved politics, New Mexico, and democracy. Larry was a mentor to many and thrilled in developing political strategies with friends and colleagues. He treasured his son, Jackson voting for the first time.

Larry Smith is preceded in death by his father, Jack Smith; and brothers, Richard, Jerry, and Anthony Lucero.

He is survived by his son, Jackson Wolfe-Smith; his mother, Ricky Smith; his sister, Mary and her husband, Joseph Billera; sister-in-law, Paula Espinosa; and Jackson's mother, Anastasia Wolfe. Larry is also survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Family, friends and colleagues are invited to a service celebrating Larry's life, at the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel, on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. As per
