Chavez, Lawrence "Larry"

Lawrence "Larry" Chavez, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Feb. 13, 2017.

He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Parra of Sacramento, CA, his children, James and wife Mary; Sylvia; Laura and husband Dave; and Liz Blackburn and significant other Anthony, along with six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by the Love of his Life, Charlotte and his grandson, TK Blackburn.

He served in the US Air Force and retired from UNM's printing plant. He had a life long commitment with boxing and helped the community as a coach for PAL's boxing club along with many years volunteering with Golden Gloves. He also coached, trained, judged, and refereed numerous boxing events.

There will be a Celebration of Life this Sat., Feb. 18 at 2:00, at the family home. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Mon., Feb. 20 at 9:00 a.m. at our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, Alb
