Koontz, Leo Christian

Leo Christian Koontz was born April 27, 2017 to parents Lisa Koontz and Clay Koontz of Albuquerque. Leo's time with us, while short, provided many smiles and joy to everyone. The family and friends of Leo lovingly anticipated his arrival and looked forward to sharing our lives with him. Leo touched so many lives and was such a source of inspiration during his short stay with us. His brief gift of life was treasured tremendously by his parents, grandparents, and deeply caring hospital staff. Leo was greeted in heaven by many dear family members who are enjoying our precious boy's company until we meet him again.

Leo Christian Koontz passed away at UNMH on April 30, 2017. Leo was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Larry Hugh Williams in 2002.

Along with his parents, Leo is survived by his maternal grandmother Sandy Jeanne Williams of Albuquerque, paternal grandparents Jim and Marilee Koontz of Corrales, paternal great-grandmothers Lorna Lund of Longmont, CO and Ella Dee Koontz of Corrales, two uncles Larry Matthew Williams of Albuquerque and Justin Baylor Koontz and his wife Taylor and children Kaden, Kash, and Khloe all of Lubbock, TX.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers, family and friends who tirelessly prayed for us as well as for Leo's recovery.

The family requests memorials in memory of Leo Christian Koontz to the University of New Mexico Foundation for Neo Wellness.
