Lila Miller Obituary
Miller, Lila

Lila Mae (Hubbell) Miller, age 84, reunited with her beloved husband, Col. Amory A. Miller, on August 3, 2016. Born in Farmington, NM, Lila lived across the globe as an Army officer's wife, but always called New Mexico her home. Lila dedicated herself to family and volunteer activities. In 1988 she became active in NM AIDS Services and was instrumental in founding the Necessities of Life Food Bank for people living with AIDS. Lila was a deeply committed member of AA for 40 years. Her beautiful smile and boisterous laugh are legendary.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Amory; son, Manfred (Mannie) and his partner, Paul; honorary son, Martin Collins; brother, George; and parents, Lila and George Hubbell, DDS.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters and grandchildren: Donna Fastle (husband Frank Trujillo and son, Alan Fastle & wife, Anne); Amy Hughes (husband, Richard and sons, Randy and Mike). She will be missed by her sister, Madge Hubbell, and her niece and nephew. Numerous honorary family members deeply feel her loss, especially Linda Clarkson and Wendy Lundgren.

A celebration of Lila's wonderful life will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to VFW National Home for Widows and Orphans, 3573 S. Waverly Rd., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827

or NM AIDS Services, 625 Truman NE, Alb., NM 87110
