Lillian Breen Obituary
Breen, Lillian

Lillian Breen, age 93, passed from this life on Monday, February 22nd. She died in her home as she had lived, gracefully and peacefully, and only after completing her daily crossword puzzle.

She was born in Hoven, a farming town in South Dakota. With husband Edward, Lillian and her family made their way to Albuquerque 57 years ago where he worked at Kirtland Base and she managed the family home. She was a gifted gardener and took special pride in her spectacular flower displays. She cherished family time, cooking delectable meals from a treasury of thousands of recipes. In recent years she found great joy in keeping up with her relatives and the world around her via the iPad that she got and learned to operate on her 90th birthday. Lillian was a model of gentle kindness and generosity of spirit. Her mind was bright and sharp to the very end, and our lives will be dimmer without her.

Lillian lost her beloved husband, Edward, in 1988. Her parents, Mathias and Tillie Arbach, and seven siblings, Frank, Walter, Willie, Lewis, Teresa, Oliva, and Cyril, all also predeceased her.

She is survived by her children, Carol Breen, Kathryn Oates (James), Larry Breen (Elaine) and Ron (Lonni Ann Fredman); grandchildren, Aimee Soodan (Ranjit and children India and Spencer), Larissa Breen Callaway (Timothy), David Breen, Daniel Breen, Matthew Breen (Shawn Jimenez), and Douglas Breen.

A Rosary and Mass will be held at 8:30 AM on Saturday, March 12, at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School Rd. NE, Albuquerque. A private family interment will follow.
