Lane, Lois. A.

Lois A. Lane of Albuquerque died on January 1, 2017.

Born Lois Ann Merwin in 1936 outside of Kansas City, Missouri, Lois overcame paralysis from childhood polio, meeting this, as with all other challenges in her lifetime with her indomitable will and courage.

She wed Sandy Winfrey and had three children, raising the family in Belen, NM. Lois graduated with a B.A. from UNM and later from design school.

In 1983 she married H. Mikkel Kelly who preceded her in death in 1986.

Lois was a brilliant interior designer and entrepreneur known for her vision and big heart. Lois's thirst for life was without parallel. She was interested in everyone she met and had a talent for putting anyone at ease and learning their story. She worked tirelessly to make life better for those she loved-her family, her friends, and neighbors.

She had beautiful red hair, a joyful smile, plenty of dreams, the intelligence and will to see them through, and a deep and abiding love for her family.

Lois was preceded in death by her sons Trace and Sandy; brother, Jack, and younger sister, Cheryl.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Pelletier; granddaughters Catherine Pelletier and Heather Beltran; nieces and nephew; and great grandchildren Gabriel and Marcus Beltran.

Interment will be January 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park.
