Lorraine A. Warren

Lorraine A. Warren lived a varied and full life in her 98 years. She learned to fly an airplane at age 12 but waited to solo at the age of 16. She was the youngest woman in the U.S. to accomplish this feat. She and her father would ferry airplanes. After graduating as a dietician from Kansas State, she got a job in Wichita. There she met and married Dr. Kenneth E. Warren. Moving to New Mexico brought new interests, including church work, hospital auxiliary work, and entertaining. She loved cruises and became a world traveler. Closer to home she enjoyed their cabin, where she fished, played cards, and worked puzzles. Weekends found her watching college sports and rooting for her Wildcats. She was a strong and independent woman who designed two homes. Her biggest interest was her family and friends, who she gave unconditional love.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Orville; her brother, Bob; and her husband. She is survived by her sisters, Lavonne and Marjorie; her brother, George (Dorothy); her daughters, Cheryl (Jim), and Lynne; and their families. She had 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed.

Memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 20th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountainside United Methodist Church, 4 Penny Lane, Cedar Crest, New Mexico.
