Saiz, Lydia

Lydia Saiz, 79, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was born in Canon Plaza, New Mexico on September 14, 1937. She was called to her eternal resting place with her family by her side on May 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; her parents, Alfonso and Alcarita Jaramillo; her sisters, Nila Haught and Bertha Jaramillo and brother, Perfecto Jaramillo. She is survived by her children, Marty and wife, Teresa, Marlene Martinez and husband, Mitchell, Darlene Moreno and husband, Richard, Theresa Wilmert and husband, Ken, Matt and wife, Brenda, Marshall and wife, Lori; her brother, Alfonso Jaramillo and sister, Elva Threet. She had 19 grandchildren, Henry, Ross, Corey, and Jeremy Roybal; Kenny, Kevin, Megan Saiz, Zach, Noah, Cameron; Gabe, Ethan and Alex Saiz; Michelle Baxter, Danielle and Bobbi Martinez, and Ashley Houlihan; Lauren and Kenzie Wilmert. She had ten great grandchildren â€" Hannah, Malachi, Lydia, Rosendo, Giana, Liliana, and Sophia Roybal; Isaiah Hernandez, Kahili and Uriah Baxter.

Lydia graduate from El Rito High School in 1956, where she met her high school sweetheart, Oscar. They raised their family in Alameda, New Mexico. Lydia built her life around her family, where she was the rock and foundation of the family. Her deep love, strength, caring heart and never quit attitude will be greatly missed.

A "Celebration of Life", which will include a Rosary will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales. Burial will follow at San Carlos Cemetery on Alameda Blvd. Pallbearers will be Henry, Ross, Corey, and Jeremy Roybal; Kenny, Kevin, Zach, and Gabe Saiz: James Jaramillo and Jerry Martinez. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the scholarship fund on behalf of "Oscar & Lydia Saiz" to the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame, 1029 Montano Rd NW Albuquerque, New Mexico 87107.
