Lopez, Manuel Serafin (Pin)



Manuel Serafin Lopez, 91, born in El Paso, TX on June 15, 1925 to Manuel and Conception Lopez and a lifetime resident of Albuquerque passed away March 28, 2017.

Proceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe and his brothers, Manuel, Arnolfo, Juan and sisters, Lola, Lucy and Soledad.

He is survived by daughter, Dolores Burkholder; son, Stephen Lopez; son-in-law, Gregory Jaramillo; grandchildren, Nicole, Dustin and George and wife, Tovia; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ambrosio Saavedra; sister-in-law, Leonora Dowdy; special friend, Premetivo Garcia and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was a 40 year business owner and operator of M&S Dry Cleaners in the South Valley. He retired at the age of 82 following a fire that destroyed his business. He was a proud Navy Veteran, often sharing stories of his service in the Navy. He spent his final 18 months of his life living with his son and son-in-law and surrounded by his pride and joy, his fury companions, Paris, Sydney and Saigon. He was a caring and giving individual, both to his family and friends. He is loved and will be greatly missed. His passing ends a generation of the Lopez family.

A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 8th at 9:30 am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 7999 Wyoming NE, Alb. Cremation has taken place.
