She was born on October 22, 1951 in Akron, OH, the first of four children born to Sylvia (Ortolano) Thomas and William D. Thomas. She is survived by her son, William (Liam) D. Broderick of Atlanta, GA; her mother, Sylvia Thomas of Pleasant Hill, CA; her brother, Craig S. Thomas of Woodland Hills, CA; and her sister Becky Thomas-Mears (Frank) of Anchorage, AK. She was predeceased by her brother, Dennis Mark Thomas in 2012, and her father, William D. Thomas in 2008. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Stinky, who now resides with her son.

Jeanne graduated from UCSF Medical School in 1977 and completed her general surgery residency at UCSF in 1983. She practiced as a general surgeon at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM between 1983 and her retirement in 2015. Jeanne was an avid hiker, skier and duplicate bridge enthusiast and will be remembered fondly by her many friends at the Leonard Helman Bridge Club in Santa Fe. A special thanks to her favorite bridge partner, Gary Lowenthal, for his patience and loyalty for the past seven years.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 8 in Santa Fe, NM at 1 pm. Please contact Liam or other close friends for the details.
