Baker, Marjorie Lois

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and dear friend died on April 24, 2017. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 23, 1919. Marjorie inspired all who knew her with her kindness, humor, and above all, strength and dignity. She is survived by her daughter Trudy Ann Baker and husband Kenneth Shoemaker, and by her son Mark Alan Baker and wife Kerstin and son Jona. She is also survived by Richard Baker (twin brother of her deceased husband Robert Baker) and his family, currently living in Oregon.

Marjorie spent most of her life living in Portland, Oregon and she dearly loved the Oregon coast. She had many friends in Oregon who now miss her dearly. She moved to NM in 2009 to be close to her daughter. She was one of the first female naval officers in World War II, and lost her first husband Don Roberds in the war. One of her great passions was traveling the world with her church group and, later, with her daughter.

We dearly love and miss you, mom.
