Walton, Mary Frances

Mary Frances Walton, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away October 12, 2016. She was 85.

Mary was born in Vaughn, New Mexico to Arledge Thomas (A.T.) and Sara Frances (Raney) Jordan. She grew up in Tucson where she graduated from Tucson High School. Soon after, she met her former husband, Cyrus Walton. The family moved to several cities in states that included California, Oregon and Alaska.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and jewelry making. While raising a family of five, Mary attended college and became a medical assistant. During their stay in Alaska, Mary, in addition to being a medical assistant, worked for Reeve Aleutian Airways and Evergreen International Airlines as a bookkeeper. Eventually, Mary retired to Sun City, Arizona.

Mary moved to Hatch, New Mexico for a time, then moved to Hot Springs, Montana. There she purchased a small cabin resort managing the property along with her daughter. Once she tired of the cold winters, Mary settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She loved meeting people and was extremely generous with her time and resources. Mary was also a huge dog lover, having dogs all her life.

Mary is survived by: sister, Allie Beth Kenner (Weyenberg), Sacramento, CA, son Len Walton and wife Susan, Flagstaff, AZ, daughter, Earlyn Walton and partner Deb Endersbe, Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Crystal Syren and husband Roy, Anchorage, AK, son, Scott Walton and wife Monique, Portland, OR, daughter Stacy Bellwood and husband David, Portland, OR, thirteen grand-children, fourteen great grand-children and two great great grand-children. In addition, she leaves behind four nephews and four nieces.

There will be no service per Mary's request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the or Animal Humane of New Mexico.
