Mary Lou Frangos, age 77, went home to the Lord on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband Nick J. Frangos, daughter Heidi Werling, son James P. Hughes Jr. and his wife, Jodi, grandson Hiatt N. Werling, step grandchildren Brigitte and Craig, and six great grand children.

Mary Lou was predeceased by her mother, Mary Roehl Lackey, her father Orth C. lackey, brother Patrick J. McGuire, and daughter Hayley Ann Hughes.

Mary Lou was born in Albuquerque on August 29, 1939. She graduated from Valley High School in 1957 and attended Washburn Univ. in Topeka, KS. She was a devout Catholic, had a loving and kind heart, was cared for and loved by everyone she met. Even when she was suffering, she maintained her positive attitude. She loved sewing and gardening. Her sense of style and decorating blended color and form to always make her home and surroundings beautiful. She was known for giving hand-made personal gifts to friends and relatives.

Visitation will be at Riverside Chapel, 225 San Mateo NE, on Monday Sept. 12 from 4 to 5:30 pm, followed by a rosary. Mass of the Resurrection will be at Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE, on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 8:30 am. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a Memorial Donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
