Lambert, Mary Lou



Mary Lou Lambert, 79, passed away on February 26, 2017, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary Lou was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma on March 1, 1937, to Ivan W. and Henry Etta Marshall, but later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary Lou attended Highland High School where she was a majorette and competitive baton twirler and enjoyed playing the saxophone and piano. She graduated from Highland High School in 1955.

Mary Lou is preceded in death preceded in death by her son Abner Gerald (Buck) Russell, her parents Ivan W. and Henry Etta Marshall, and her grandmother Louada Venamon.

The love of Mary Lou's life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dogs. Mary Lou is survived by five children, James Franklin Dempsey, Sherry Lynn Dempsey-Helms, Donna Kay McDermott, Ivan Wallace (Chuck) Russell and Karen Sue Dunker; five grandchildren, Christopher Dempsey, Aaron Dempsey, Dacia Dempsey, Corey Dempsey, and Lauren Powell; and five great-grandchildren Mya Dempsey, Lily Dempsey, Uriah Dempsey, Myla Ortiz and Bryce Dempsey. Mary Lou is survived by her sisters Judy Luce of Phoenix, Arizona; Peggy Platz of Sulpher Springs, Texas; and Pat Bauchand of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her beloved dog, Charlie. Mary Lou is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and the family is grateful for the loving and tireless assistance provided by her niece, Linda Potter, during her last days.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon on Sat., March 4, 2017, at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE, Alb, NM 87108, with the Reverend Bonny Allen Rice presiding. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
