Pasieka, Michael F.

Michael F. Pasieka, age 54, beloved son and brother, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Michael was an accomplished and skilled registered nurse, and had expertise in many areas, from ER to OR to flight nurse. He began his interest and training in nursing at the Los Alamos Medical Center shortly after graduating from Los Alamos High School. Michael had recently received his license to practice nursing in the state of Alaska, and he was considering certification for addiction recovery support counseling. He was, above all else, a true health care professional. Michael developed and nurtured a love of all performing arts from a very early age, and pursued singing and acting from his school-age years. He was always seeing shows at Popejoy Hall. Michael was also an Olympic figure skater, and loved teaching kids skating at the Outpost Ice Arena for as long as he was able. He was a great fan of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, and was part of the Madhatter balloon team for many years.

Michael is survived by his parents, Gay Miller and Don Pasieka, and sisters Laurie McGuire and Pamela Toro. He also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as two nephews and one niece.

In lieu of a memorial service, Michael will have a cenotaph placed at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM. Memorial contributions may be made to Outpost Ice Arenas, Popejoy Hall, and Endorphin Power Company.
