Shannon, Michael J.

Michael J. Shannon met with Christ Jesus as he entered eternity on September 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; their daughter, Christina (Nicholas Boucher); his sisters, Pat and Jean; brother, Thomas; mother-in-law, Teodorita Serna; sister-in-law, Sophie; brother-in-law, John; as well as nieces, Karen, Jenifer, Cassandra, Sahjra and Krystal and nephews, Bradley, Michael and Gabriel. He served in the U.S. Navy 1968-72, and was a retiree from the U.S. Dept. of Energy Office of Inspector General. After retiring, he was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference at his parish, and a volunteer with Heritage Hospice. The family wishes to thank the clergy and staff of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church for their support, and relatives, friends, and neighbors for their support, meals, and assistance in many ways. The family also wishes to thank the physicians and staffs of the New Mexico Cancer Center, Presbyterian Hospital Specialty Medical Unit, and Kaseman Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming, with the Vigil for the Deceased to follow at 4:00 p.m., also at FRENCH - Wyoming. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 12, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE. Interment will be at a later date in Wisconsin.
