After the plane crash in Newburgh, NY that took the life of Bob, her husband, Mirium and her three children moved to New Mexico. For many years Mirium served as the Electrical Engineering Dept., at UNM, secretary, working closely with Professor Peter Dorato. Upon retirement from the University, Mirium and her brother Stephen created and ran My Aunties Dolls, specializing in soft dolls with exquisitely embroidered faces. Mirium was a member of Soroptimist International, Professional Business Women of New Mexico and the Sandia Doll Club.

Born May 2, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO, Mirium was preceded in death by Foster Hotchkiss (father), Capt. Robert F. Arnold, USAF (husband), Nelrose D.
