Monroe W. Tate Jr.



Monroe W. Tate Jr. passed away on April 9, 2018. He was born in Newport News, Virginia in 1940. Monroe is survived by his loving wife Heather; his two children, Michael and

Andrea; as well as granddaughters, Sarah and partner A.J. and Rebekah and partner Brando. He is also survived by his sister, Judy; sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Sharon (husband Bob); brother-in-law, Alan; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Monroe W. Tate Sr. and Dorothy Blackwell Tate, and by his brother, Edward Dean Tate Sr. Monroe served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division; he later earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the College of Santa Fe and was an internal auditor for New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. He retired in 2005. When their granddaughters were younger, Monroe and Heather loved taking them on trips around the country. He also loved fishing, crossword puzzles, and reading. His family was the most important part of his life, and he was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Riverside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers Monroe's family would appreciate donations to the . His family will celebrate Monroe's life at a later date.
