Nan S. Applegate

Nan S. Applegate 86, died on Oct. 10, 2017, from natural causes in Albuquerque, NM. Predeceased by her husband Tom Applegate. She is survived by two daughters Debby Mayclin and husband Doug, and Charlene Curtiss as well as four grandchildren Billy and Kelsea Giangola, and Tom and Steve Mayclin & his wife Danni.

Born in Nov. of 1930, Nan grew up under impoverished & harsh circumstances in rural South Korea during the years of the Japanese occupation & the Korean War. From her youth, she sacrificially worked to financially sustain her mother & siblings. Perhaps these early deprivations shaped a personality of will & determination which could be challenging.

Nan will be remembered for her resolve, her drive and energy, her outspoken nature, and her work ethic. She was organized, orderly & CLEAN! She often demonstrated affection by cooking delicious meals. Although not frequently demonstrative, Nan loved her family and desired the best for each member. She was generous in giving where she saw need and when she saw ways she could help improve our families' lives. Her unique personality inspired the love and devotion of her family for her. After becoming a believer in her golden years, she moved to Albuquerque & attended Sagebrush Church. We loved her deeply and she will be greatly missed.
