Gagne, Nancy Sue

Nancy Sue Gagne passed away June 29, 2017 after several years of declining health. She was born in Westminster, Colorado August 31, 1949 to Conrad and Ruth Gagne both of whom are deceased. She is survived by her brother, Norm Gagne & his wife Jane of Albuquerque, nephew Drew Gagne, his wife Alyssa Tomoff and son Etienne Gagne of Monrovia, California, nephew Matthew Gagne & his wife Lisa Gagne of Denver, Colorado, her beloved German Shepherd Calle & close friends, Bonnie & Bernard, Mary, Susan and Teresa who provided generous support & assistance to Nancy during difficult times.

Nancy received a BA in education from Colorado State College in Greeley, CO (now the University of Northern Colorado) but, by graduation, had decided that she could not teach. She joined Volunteers In Service To America and was sent to a work in a mental health facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her volunteer work became her life's work. She was a licensed mental health counselor in Grand Rapids and in Grants, New Mexico before pursuing graduate work at the University of New Mexico where she received a masters degree in educational psychology and completed course work toward a PhD. During her career she headed the behavioral health section of an Albuquerque medical/behavioral health group and made substantial contributions to drug court programs in Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties.
