Natalie Joy Whitezell Obituary
Whitezell, Natalie Joy

Natalie Joy Whitezell, born November 13, 1970 in San Antonio, Texas, walked over the Milky White Way home to her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2016.

Natalie grew up in Lovington and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated from Cibola High School in 1988 and earned a Bachelor's degree in secondary education from the University of New Mexico in 1996.

In 1997, Natalie began teaching at Cibola High School and was one of the best teachers Cibola has ever had. She coached many cheerleaders, and taught and mentored some of the most successful students in town. Today, they are making a difference in the world thanks to Mrs. Whitezell. She has left her mark on "cougar country."

Her greatest accomplishment was being a wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, as well as a teacher, mentor and hero to so many. She is the talented one in the family â€" our cook, our artist, our seamstress, our farmer, our animal/snake lover, our mathematician, our fun aunt and "Superstar Sister."

Natalie is survived by her husband, Kory Allen Whitezell (The Love of Her Life); her children, Courtney Joy and boyfriend Chad, Harlee Jo and Klayton Steel and her parents, Sherry and Tommy Weaver. She is also survived by her sisters, Shauna Paige (Robert), Kaylee (Kenyon) and Bethany Rachele (Jesse); brothers-in-law Scott and Keith (Vittoria); sisters-in-law Kris (Jeff) and Kelley (Rob); nieces Danielle, Kyla, Alexah, Lola, Tessa, Amelia, Jessie, Raquel, Bella, Jaquelyn and Katrina and her nephews Jordan, Blake, Zach, Tyler, Ryan and Mason.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Sagebrush Community Church, 6440 Coors Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120. The family requests that those in attendance dress casual and wear bright-colored clothing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Natalie's name to the "Pineapple Scholarship Fund" at Cibola High School by calling the school at 897-0110. The scholarship will go to a young mathematician.
