Norman Teitelbaum Obituary
Teitelbaum, Norman

Our father, Norman Teitelbaum, passed away peacefully at the ripe young age of 90 on November 28th. He remained active and independent and delighted in driving his four-legged 4th child, a German Shepherd, around Rio Rancho.

He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and served his country as a United States Marine and up until recently had remained an active volunteer at the VA Hospital and was a member of the VAVS Committee with the Jewish War Veterans of America. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Bertha (Ramberg), and after her death in 2004, Norman retired from his salvage yard business and relocated from Stafford County, Virginia to Rio Rancho to be near his son, Marvin.

A mechanic by trade, Norman was forever eager to help his neighbors keep their cars in running condition and often provided transportation to enable others to keep their medical appointments. He was gregarious and shared his delightful sense of humor with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Lillian Hoffman, of North Belmore, New York. He is survived by his three children, April Teitelbaum MD (married to Austin Bernstein); Madelynn Elis (married to Steve), and Marvin (married to Nancy). The best parts of Norman, his values and personality, live on in his children.

A luncheon in Norman's honor will be held on February 24th at the Meadowlark Senior Center at 4330 Meadowlark Lane SE, in Rio Rancho. Burial will be at the National Cemetery on February 25th.
