Ayers, Oscar "Big O"



Oscar Ayers, "Big O", age 90, peacefully departed his earthly body and entered heaven's glories March 1, 2017. He conducted his life with great personal integrity. He was a self-made man who put himself through college to become a mechanical engineer. He also earned his Masters of Science degree later in life. Oscar worked many years at KAFB. He was honored throughout his career, and received special recognition for his contributions to TRESTLE, the largest simulation facility ever built. Oscar was an avid bowler, golfer, handball player, and an inventive handyman.

He enjoyed square, round, and ballroom dancing with Joan, his wife of 63 years, who preceded him in death. Their sons, Stephen & Allen also preceded them.

Left to cherish many precious memories are his four children, Linda, Larry, Peggy, Roger, and granddaughter, Bethany (Allen's daughter) along with their extended families who loved him and will miss him dearly. Oscar remarried at age 87 & is survived by his adoring wife, Barbara Eastburg Ayers.

Cremation has taken place.
