Patricia and William Harvey

Harvey (84) and William Harwood Harvey (86) have been reunited for eternity.

Patricia left us December 17 and William (Bill) followed her December 25, 2017, unable to endure more than eight days apart after a marriage of 66 years. Together they raised six children. They traversed the United States numerous times and experienced life abroad, with a daughter born in England and a son born in Turkey. They were preceded in death by granddaughter, Erica Harvey; two sons, Mark and Matthew; their parents; and a brother of Bill and two brothers of Patricia.

They were quite a pair! Patricia devoted her early years to raising children, keeping a very busy schedule between home, school, scouts, and sports for each of them. She had quite the creative mind for Halloween costumes when they were little. As the children grew, she was able to refocus on herself and Bill, doing more of the things she loved. Patricia enjoyed reading, square dancing with Bill, swimming, traveling, sweet treats, laughing, and shopping, shopping, shopping. Quite the fashionista, Patricia loved dressing up in any form, including outlandish outfits and very innovative Halloween costumes for her and Bill. She was quite the prankster, feeding her children green mashed potatoes, Dr. Seuss breakfasts, and slipping paper notes into school lunch sandwiches. Her sharp wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed!

Bill, too, was busy when the children were little, serving 20 years in the Air Force and, after retiring, running Bill's Exxon and later Bill's Parts and Service, but he always enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, gardening, woodworking, cooking, all the old Western TV shows, and old country music. He bowled on a team for many years until just this past Fall. When the children were older he spent time on his boat at the lake with family, fishing and goofing around in the cool water. Many hours were also spent in the backyard, barbequing and playing in the pool with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating life, birthdays, Father's Day, Mother's Day, and any other excuse that could be found. Those will be just some of the many moments missed by surviving family as the years go by. They both truly loved celebrating Christmas with family, making the timing of their passings especially bittersweet.

Their survivors include

Michael Harvey (Cynthia), Sandra Roberts (Glenn), Stephanie Roberts (Don) and Kerry Harvey (Liz); granddaughters, Shannon Schwebach, Tiffany Bibeau, Jessica Dossey, Ashley Roberts, Katlyn Roberts, Briana Harvey, and Alsace Harvey; grandsons, Alex Harvey, Glenn Ryan Roberts, and

Nicholas Harvey; and six great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

A celebration of their life together will be held Sunday, January 28, 2018, at

2 p.m. at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial, 1100 Louisiana Blvd., SE, in

Albuquerque. Interment will take place at a later date in Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter or humane society.
