Patricia Baggett Obituary
Baggett, Patricia

Patricia Randol Baggett, age 86, died at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Monday, May 2, 2016, from complications arising from long-term heart and kidney disease.

Pat was born in Clinton, Oklahoma. She grew up on a farm in Oklahoma, moved to California with her family during the Depression, and then returned to Oklahoma a few years later. She married Terence Baggett in 1950, and moved to St. Louis. She and Terence both found employment at Sandia National Laboratory and moved to Albuquerque in the 1950's.

She is survived by her husband, Terence "Ted" Baggett; daughter Barbara and husband Don Gradner; son Bryan and wife Susan Barnes Baggett; grandchildren Tim Gradner, Kate and husband Andrew Eytcheson, Branden McDaniel and fiance Lauren Bingham, Brittany and husband Drew Grider, Bryson Baggett; numerous great-grandchildren; along with brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Randol; father, George Randol; and sister Georgann McFall.

Pat accepted Christ as her Savior as a girl, and remained a devout Christian and Southern Baptist throughout her life. She had the gift of teaching and this became both her vocation (elementary special education) and her avocation. She taught Sunday School and other classes at Sandia Baptist Church for over 40 years, but her favorite teaching position by far was the ladies' Adult 7 class.

Pat was generous and compassionate to all and often provided food, clothing, transportation, and monetary support to people in need. She provided for more than their physical needs, often telling those she helped about her Lord and giving tracts or Bibles to them. In keeping with her selfless nature, Pat made arrangements in advance of her death to have her body donated to UNM School of Medicine.

Services for Pat Baggett are scheduled for Saturday, May 7, at Sandia Baptist Church: 9429 Constitution Avenue NE, Albuquerque NM. Family Visitation is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. and the Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan's Purse at samaritanspurse.org, which was a ministry Pat dearly loved.
