Patricia Ann Cortelyou

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia "Patsy" Ann

Cortelyou. She died Sat., September 23, 2017 in Rio Rancho, NM following an extended battle with leukemia.

Pat was born August 28, 1933 in Sunnyside, UT, in the home of her grandparents, the Pattersons. She was the first of three close-knit, loving daughters born to Cliff and Pearl Patterson Mahan. She had fond memories of growing up in a coal mining town. She graduated from Carbon High School in Price, UT in 1951. She then attended the Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, Utah, from which she graduated in 1954.

Shortly after graduation while working as a nurse in Sacramento, California, she met & married 2nd Lieutenant George B. Cortelyou III on Dec. 18, 1954. This chance meeting & joyful marriage began their grand adventure all over the world, including the birth of 2 daughters & military assignments in Mississippi, Florida, Japan & Germany.

Pat will be fondly remembered for her service as a Public Health nurse supporting the people of Albuquerque. Besides her service to the people and city she loved, Pat also spent time serving her church, especially in the Albuquerque Temple of the .

Pat is survived by her husband of 62 years, George, sisters Sallie Killian and Vena Tryon, and two children: Suzanne Divett (Donald) and Carolyn Rowley (Michael). From two daughters came 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service Fri., Sept. 29, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 300 Loma Colorado Blvd. NE, Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers make a donation to the Presbyterian Cancer Care in Pat's memory. Thank you to Dr. Bernard Agbemadzo, Presbyterian Hospice & The Neighborhood.
