Rael, Patricia "Pat" 1925-2016



Patricia "Pat" Rael, age 90, a resident of Belen, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at her daughter's home in Albuquerque. Pat was a beloved mother and grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and longtime devoted wife of a railroader. She loved shoes and enjoyed reading horoscopes and obituaries. Pat also enjoyed gardening and driving and she had a calendar in every room. Pat was a great cook that never used a recipe. She loved going to the casino to play slots, but when she couldn't get there, she would play slots on her IPad. Even as early as September, Pat traveled to Las Vegas with her daughter, Diane for her 90th birthday exclaiming, "I'm Free as a Bird!"

She was preceded in death by her parents, Celso and Irene Padilla' husband, Gilbert H. Rael; sons, Casey Rael and baby Richard Rael; grandson, Clayton J. Rael; great-grandsons, Leighton Rael and Mathew Rael and baby Enrique Rael.

Pat is survived by her children, Gilbert L. Rael, Johnny F. Rael and his wife, Viola, Lorenzo L. Rael and his wife, Shirley, Diane Henry and her husband, Ric; brother, Tony Romero and his wife, Amy; grandchildren, Richard and wife, Loxie, Mark, Mike, Jeffrey, Gilbert, Elaine Searles and husband, Mike, Lawrence J. Rael, MaryAnn Rael and her son, Jericho, Ali Henry and Joseph Henry; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 14 at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel beginning with a visitation at 12:30 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Noblin Funeral Service Reception Room.

Pallbearers are Lawrence Rael, Elaine Searles, Johnny Chavez, Jayde Chavez, Ali Henry, Joseph Henry, Gilbert Rael and MaryAnn Rael. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeffrey Rael, Mark Rael and Mike Rael.
