Patricia Blatz Riesen

Patricia "Patty" Blatz Riesen, formerly of Rock Falls, Illinois, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, in Albuquerque, with her family surrounding her. Patty was born Sept. 15, 1952, the daughter of Leroy and Mary Ann (White) Blatz. Patty grew up in Rock Falls and graduated in 1970 from Newman High School. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin, and was an avid artist and photographer. She moved to Albuquerque to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. This is where she met her Albuquerque family: partner, Eddie De Cristofaro and his family and cousins; the West family; and her Faith Sharing Group; who all brought much love and joy into Patty's life. Patty belonged to a Faith Sharing Group, sang in the choir at the Aquinas Newman Center and later joined the church community of the Shrine of St. Bernadette. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Riesen of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Melissa (Lewis) Riesen Borck of the Netherlands; three grandchildren, Avery Kruger, Maya and Zoe Borck; partner, Eddie De Cristofaro of Albuquerque; mother, Mary Ann Blatz of Rock Falls; five sisters, Teresa, Mary, Helen, Regina, and Angela; six brothers, Ed., Ernie, Roger, Gary, Dennis, and Greg.
