Wallace, Paul S.

Paul Stephen Wallace, 69 passed away April 5, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. "Pablo" was born to Jack Leon and Margaret Edith Wallace Oct. 14, 1947 in Long Beach, CA and grew up in Alb. NM. He attended Highland HS and worked as an Iron worker in the apprentice program following with a varied career path and concluding his career working for Martinez Construction. During his high school years, Paul was a member of the ski club and later a founding member of the No. Valley Optimist Club. He was an avid stamp collector with his brother Gary. Favorites were commemorative stamps. He attended CNM taking carpentry and business courses to develop PSW Guide and Outfitting, a Camping, Backpacking and Wilderness company. "Pablo" traveled the US & Canada with family. Fishing, boating and traveling was one of the activities he enjoyed throughout life with his mother & step-father & guided the trails. Pablo could be very engaging & would visit with strangers as easily as family. He could also be very mischievous, it was natural his mother, a seamstress made the Halloween costumes. Small jaunts were not uncommon through the Manzano, Jemez Mtns, Clines Corners, or another state such as Idaho or Oregon to pick blackberries. He was fortunate to see firsthand what it was like to be in the Firestone race car "pit" during the auto races in Akron, OH.

Paul was a member of the First Christian Church and loved the Savior, reading the Bible & quoting verses. He rarely ended a phone call without saying "God Bless You". He never married but had a girlfriend, Grace he loved, sang gospel sons with. He is survived by his two sisters, Jacquelyn Kay McAdams (Larry) of Alb, NM, Charmianne Wallace LeaVell (Lonnie) of Gooding, ID, Aunt Jewel Firestone, Amarillo, TX, Uncle Doyle (Peggy) Beckham, Pampa, TX; sister-in-law, Linda, wife of his late brother, Gary Wallace, Seattle, WA and step-daughter, Crystal Thomas & step-sons, Bronson and Ben Ketchum; nephew, Rodger Burnett (Terresa) & nephews, Mitchell Burnett (Shannon), Benjamin, Parker and twins, Wesley & Nathan Burnett, Alb, NM & many cousins.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Jack Leon Wallace, mother, Margaret Edith Wallace Whelan, brothers, Doyle Wayne Wallace & Gary Max Wallace & niece, Lisa Burnett.
