Retired Major Philippine G. Vinskey passed away May 12, 2016 in El Paso, TX. She was born in Buchenbach, Germany on September 6th, 1952. Gloria was a proud member of the United States Army where she served for 24 years. She belonged to numerous organizations including: Graduate of Parkland High School, The Women's Army Corp Veterans Association, American Legion Post 206, Women's Army Museum, and also is a lifetime member of the Texas National Guard. Gloria served in supply, as a linguist (speaking 9 languages), an interrogator (one of her favorite memories is bending guys over a cactus at Fort Bliss to make them talk) & finally attending OCS to begin her officer career.

My mom was amazing; she had a love for life and was always out looking for new adventure. You will be sorely missed.

Gloria is survived by her mother Lieselotte Dettmann; son Justin Hammond; daughter Heather DaSilva; step- daughter Lori Blackburn; step-son Bart Vinskey; Grandkids Zacory Parr, Dean Grabowski III, Kayla Neece-Hammond, Colton Haney, and Timothy Haney; sisters Veronica and Mari; and brother Eddy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Wolfgang Vinskey.

Funeral services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on June 6th at 10:15 am, pavilion C.
