Phillip Wayne Brooks

Phillip Brooks, a native of New Mexico, died early Sunday morning February 4th, 2018. He had just celebrated 70 years.

Phillip was born in Albuquerque on February 1, 1948. He graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1966, and from Eastern New Mexico University in 1971. At Eastern, he was member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Phillip maintained enduring friendships with his classmates from both Pius and Eastern. Starting at the Solar Tower, Phillip was a contractor for various companies to Sandia National Labs for many years. Currently, he was employed part time at Stellar Science.

He was a good neighbor. He loved his family dearly and especially loved his poodle, Jasmine; his Sheltie, Bella; and his greyhounds, Harmony and Comfort. From the early 1970's, he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed many rides on his Harley Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stan Brooks and his brother, Randy Brooks.

Phillip is survived by wife, Debee Risvold; mother, Margaret Brooks; sister, Marita Brooks; brother, Brian Brooks (Laverne); nieces, Amanda and Margarita; and nephew, Colton, all of Albuquerque; and nephew, Harrison Brooks of Lubbock, TX (mother Annette Brooks of Anthony, NM).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Mexico BioPark Society 10th St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 for the care of the animals or to a .
