Montoya, Ralph M.

Ralph M. Montoya, age 65. A longtime resident of the North Valley neighborhood went home to be with the lord on November 22, 2016 after a two-year courageous battle with ALS. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Montoya; his mother Sinfie Torres; and brother Tony Montoya.

He is survived by his loving wife Carmen of 36 years. His children Ralph, Tanya, and Daniel. His grandchildren Raven, Lorenzo, Diego, Araceli, Devin, and Andrea. His four sisters, two brothers, and a wonderful sister-in-law Sharon Radillo.

Ralph served his country with pride and honor in the US Army. He was a Vietnam War Veteran that served with the 82nd and 173rd Airborne. He was awarded 2 purple hearts, the Bronze Star and other distinguished awards. He was active in his community coaching baseball, football and wrestling. He retired from the federal government as a VA counselor. He was an amazing man that touched many lives.

We would like to give special thanks to the VA home base primary care team especially Dr. Spivey and Pete Feldener, RN. The VA ENT department; J.D. Real and Teresa Brobeck.

Please join us in celebrating Ralph's life, Rosary will be recited Tuesday November 29, at 6pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 30, 9am with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rosary and funeral mass will be held at Saint. Therese of the Infant Jesus 3424 4th St. NW.
