Judson, Robert Emory

1940-2017

Robert Emory Judson, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at his home in Los Lunas, New Mexico. He was surrounded by his wife of 31 years Sheila and daughters, Kristina and Kristen.

Robert went by many names, including Sargent First Class in the US Army, Pastor Robert of New Hope, Dad, and known as Papa to his grandchildren. His most important name was "my Bob" given to him by his wife Sheila; they were the love and joy of each other's lives.

Robert felt honored to have retired from the Army after serving his country for 20 years. He served his community at New Hope Community Outreach as a benevolence pastor and Grace Fellowship as an elder where he retired after 21 years of service.

Robert will always be remembered as a man of faith, love, and compassion. He loved his friends and enjoyed visiting with them over breakfast and coffee and telling stories of what God was doing in his life and the lives of his family. He was encouraging to everyone he met and will be deeply missed by many. Sheila looks forward to being reunited someday with her "my Bob."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret; daughter, Ericka Judson; and twin sister, Ruth VanGeison.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sheila Judson; and five of his children, son, Derek Judson and his significant other, Lauren with their children, Tyler and Mason; his son, Robert Judson and his wife, Rachel with their children, Riley, Logan, Colin, and Thea; his daughters, Kristina and Kristen; and his son, Patrick with his wife, Melody and their daughters, Evangeline and Felicity. He is also survived by his sister, Janice of Indiana and Patricia of Florida; his sister in-laws, Linda, Aileene, Andrea, Trudy, and Martha; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Belen beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held, on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 12:45 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Robert will be receiving military honors in Santa Fe.
