McKenna, Robert

Robert McKenna, 68, passed away on July 7, 2017 in Alb, New Mexico.

Robert was born to Donald and Gertrude McKenna on Jan.9, 1949 in Billings, Montana. He was a graduate of Billings Central & went on to earn degrees from EMC & the U of M. He joined the Navy in 1973 and served as a Naval Flight Officer onboard the USS Midway, stationed in Japan, from 1975 to 1978. He married Sherri Cantwell on Dec. 27, 1975. The couple raised their family in Billings, Montana until relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1994. Bob retired from the Department of the Interior in 2011.

One of his passions was cooking for family and friends who were always eager to try whatever he created.

After retiring, he loved spending time with his granddaughter and taught her important things like how to ride a bike and passed along his fondness of Costco.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Timothy. He is survived by his wife, Sherri, children Natalie and Andrew, granddaughter Abigail, brothers Ronald (Patty) & Russell (LouAnn), brother-in-law Greg Cantwell & sister-in-law Tammy (Kirk) Hinnergardt, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
