Robert Monroe Manchester Obituary
Manchester, Robert Monroe

Robert (Bob) Monroe Manchester, age 82, passed away peacefully with his wife, Tina, by his side on April 28, 2016. Bob was born in Watertown, New York, on September 24, 1933 to Maurice and Margaret Manchester. He moved to Albuquerque in 1993 from the San Francisco Bay area.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; and his father, Maurice.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tina, and their three dogs, Sheba, Mr. Buttons, and Sasquatch; daughter Candy Royster and granddaughter Tiffany; son Eric and grandchildren; and brother Ronald.

From the time of his first dogs, Skipper 1 and Skipper 2, Bob loved caring for animals and had many dogs and guinea pigs throughout his life. They will be happy to see their kind and loving caretaker when they are reunited at the Rainbow Bridge.

He enjoyed fishing and camping, and watching the San Francisco 49ers. He also enjoyed the open road and he and Tina made many road trips together. He was fond of going to the casinos in Las Vegas and saw his favorite group, the Moody Blues, there twice.

Bob started work at a young age and continued working into retirement. At age 81, he worked fulltime at Walmart where he had many friends. He enjoyed helping customers in the hardware section of the store and meeting new people. He enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War and served honorably as a psychiatric technician, providing care to individuals with mental illnesses.

In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for an animal.
