Robert A. Swan

Robert A. Swan was born September 13, 1943 in Beloit, Wisconsin. He was the eldest of three children born to June and Bob Swan.

Bob was very active growing up; on the ski patrol and lettering in curling. After graduating from high school, he moved to Florida to work with his uncle who was head chef at one of the large hotels in Ft. Lauderdale. This is where he met his first wife, JoAnn, the mother of his son.

While in Florida, he also went to school for Computer Science and worked with computers his whole life. After graduating, he moved his little family back to Wisconsin. In 1981, they tired of the winters in Wisconsin and moved to Albuquerque.

After he and JoAnn ended their marriage, he was married a short time to Barbara Lazarus.

In June of 1997, he made one more trip down the aisle to marry Susan Eggenberger. They have been married over 20 years. Susan got him involved in x-country skiing, an activity that dominated their winters for 17 years. When Susan was diagnosed with MS and couldn't participate any longer, they both retired in 2000 and started traveling all over the US, including a few trips to Europe and some cruises.

Bob then bought a motorhome so they could go fishing all over the state. Bob was a very warm, happy and loving man that loved his family and the Green Bay Packers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Robert and partner Mark; step-son, Robert; three step-grandchildren, Kiel, Ashlee and Tristan; brother, Jim (Judy); two nephews, Jimmy (Dawn), Tyson (Abby); sister, Nancy (Steve); two nieces, Jan and Jill as well as other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Albuquerque Shrine Center, where Bob was an active member, 6600 Zuni Rd. SE., on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Please no flowers, donations can be made to the Shrine Transportation Fund and greatly appreciated. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW. ABQ., 505-343-8008
