Goeres, Ross Paul

Major Ross Paul Goeres, USAF (Ret.), 60, passed peacefully Nov. 10, 2016 after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer over the last 4+ years and 74 chemo treatments. He was the penultimate son of John and Laurentina Goeres and often called himself "#4".

Ross was born at the family farm near Lemmon, SD & was a radio DJ prior to a career with the Air Force. He was proud of his enlisted service and of becoming an officer in the Air Force. Maj. Goeres was a talented comm-computer engineer and contributed significantly to global security. He was a brilliant, funny, creative loyal man who made a difference in many other lives. Ross was often known as, "the engineer's engineer" for his devotion to science & reason.

Ross' parents, brother Chuck, and sister-in-law Goergene preceded him in death. He is survived by his former wife, Dr. Mindy Connolly, his brothers, Vern, Loren, and Anton, many nieces and nephews, and an extended family of friends, who each miss him immensely.

A memorial service will be held at the First Unitarian Church of ABQ on Jan. 28, 2017, at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Unitarian Food Pantry.
