Speechly, Ruth E. (McKay)

Longtime Albuquerque resident, Ruth E. (McKay) Speechly, grandmother, mother, and devoted friend, passed away on 7/20/17 in the early evening. A faint double rainbow was apparent in the rainless desert sky, a bit of magic that we, her small family and biggest fans, will likely always remember as her final gift to us. We will miss her forever and will never be the same for having had her in our lives...& also for having lost her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Bertha Cap and her 1st husband, William J. McKay. She is survived by son, Scott McKay, daughter Lynn (McKay) Hoth, grandchildren Jasper McKay, Stephanie Kern, Kristin McKay, Jacob McIntire, Lori Marada, 10 great-

grandchildren.

Ruth worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools as a secretary and for then Mountain Bell Telephone Company, also in an administrative assistance capacity. In later years, she functioned as a leasing agent for Uptown Square Apartments, where she also lived for a time and established many long-term friendships. Ruth logged 1000+ hours as a hospital volunteer, sang with the Oasis choir & enjoyed continuing education classes.

Family and close friends will be celebrating her life at 10am, Thursday 7/27/17, in the community room at the Uptown Square Apts.
