Salvatore Riccobono Obituary
Riccobono, Salvatore "Rick" "Toory"

Salvatore "Rick" "Toory" Riccobono passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of August 20, 2016. He was born in Clifton, NJ on December 4, 1924, to Italian immigrant parents.

He joined the Army during WWII and continued to serve for more than 20 years. Upon ending his service, he worked as a computer professional for the federal government before retiring and moving to Albuquerque, where he worked as a computer programmer at the University of New Mexico. He was an avid musician, who played trumpet in military bands, orchestras and combos. He taught himself the bass after losing part of a lung to a rare disease. He later played the bass in The Rio Grande Jazz Society in Albuquerque and was active in the Paradise Hills United Methodist Church. In addition to his passion for music, he also loved food, friends and family.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Josephine Riccobono; his siblings, Richard, Providence "Florence" Santillo and Adeline Galorenzo, and his daughter, Donna J. Riccobono.

He is survived by his son, Domenick "Rick" Riccobono; daughter-in-law, Deborah; grandsons, Glenn and Brian Riccobono; granddaughter-in-law, Lita; great-grandchildren, Brycen, Jocelyn, Kieran, Joshua and Micah; his daughters, Darlene and Juanita Riccobono; his daughter Donna's son, Mervin "Buddy" Smith III; granddaughter-in-law, Christina, and great granddaughter, Giuliana, as well as his "second family," related in spirit if not blood: William and Catherine Morgan and their son, David.

A viewing will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at FRENCH â€" Westside at 12:00 p.m. noon, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
