Duncan, Samuel Cowan (Sam)

Samuel C. Duncan was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 19, 1938 to Samuel and Katie Duncan.

He grew up in Albuquerque, NM, graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended New Mexico State University where he was an accomplished track and field athlete setting school records. Sam spent 20 years in the Air Force. After retirement from the military, he worked at and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot Naval Air Station. Sam was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is remembered as was a good man with a generous and giving heart. Due to his health he relocated from Corpus Christi to Denver, Co and was under the care of his daughter, Sharon Wilson, where he passed on August 2, 2016.

Besides Sharon, he is survived by daughter Pamela Shelton, Jackson, FL, and son James Duncan, Boise, ID, 12 grandchildren seven great-grandchildren, his nieces Brenda Dabney, Mary Catherine Grissom, and Rebecca Montoya,; nephews Patrick Ballou, William (Billy) Ballou, and Orlando Ricardo Duncan and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sam has been cremated and a service was held in Denver, CO at the Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary.
