Wisler, Therese I.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Therese I. Wisler, 92, on 3/11/17. She was our beloved mother, grandmother, G.G., aunt, and friend.

Therese was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Wisler, her granddaughter Catherine Cicarella, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Therese graduated from nursing school in the early 1940's. Her first nursing job was at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She was proud to be able to support her children by working in the field she loved.

She led a busy and full life. She described her trip to Italy as a "trip of a lifetime." She loved playing bridge, taking road trips, hiking New Mexico, Good Friday pilgrimages to Chimayo, Dukes games on the 4th of July, and cooking and baking for everyone. She was an active member of the Women's Guild at Risen Savior Catholic Community for decades.

Therese is survived by her children Thomas (Ann), Linda (Jim Roberts), and Laura Cicarella, and step-son Bruce Wisler (Diane). She was the proud grandmother of Michael (Robyn), Jeffery (Erin), and Kevin Cicarella, and the great-grandmother of Cassandra, Thomas, Caleb, and Andrew Cicarella. She is also survived by four loving nieces: Martha Hinkle, Susan Struble, Alberta Rench, and Maryann Yover, and their families.

We send our sincere gratitude to the staff at Brookdale Valencia; to our special angels at High Desert Hospice, Kimberley and Cynthia, for their exceptional care, kindness, and support; and to Kay & Ken Coon, the best friends anyone could ever have.

A Catholic mass will be held at San Felipe de Neri Parish in Old Town Albuquerque on Monday, 4/10/17 at 10 am. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Santuario de Chimayo, 15 Santuario Drive, Chimayo, NM 87522.
