Valerie Tafoya-Rino, a resident of Belen, NM, returned to her Heavenly home Saturday, July 23, 2016. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She attended nursing school and was always thinking of others, whether it was taking care of their needs or cooking for everyone. Valerie was an excellent cook and a wonderful party planner, and she was just getting into planning weddings. She loved people and was a very outgoing soul. Valerie had a wonderful network of friends, she never met a stranger and she always made it a point to keep in touch with them all. Her sense of humor and practical joking pranks were well known by her many loving family and friends. Valerie's children, mom, dad, brothers and all the rest of her family meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kenadee Brooke Golliheair; maternal grandparents, Joe and Nila Chavez; paternal grandparents, Joe and Mary Tafoya; and godparents, Joe and Irene Padilla.

Valerie is survived by her parents, Danny and Angie Tafoya; brothers, Mark and wife, April Tafoya, Dale and wife, Joei Tafoya; children, Hanna, Kayley, and Mason; and boyfriend, Phillip Cordova. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. A Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. The family will have a reception following the interment at Our Lady of Belen Parish Hall, friends and relatives are invited to attend. Pallbearers will be Tyler, Matthew, Noah, and Nicholas Tafoya, Tony Devlin, Weldon Sutherland, Frank Moore, and Lawrence Padilla.
