Viola Grace Castillo

On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, after battling dementia for seven years, Viola Grace Castillo (Nana), went to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Apodaca, and her mother, Sophia; her brothers, Frankie and Gerald; her sisters, Lucille and Marcy. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Frank Castillo Jr.; her sister, Judy Anderson; her son, Frank R. Castillo and wife Darlene; her daughter, Karen Roussel and husband Mike; her grandchildren, Andrea Cloak and husband Jack, Matt Castillo and wife Brittany, Lauren Roussel and fiance Logan Lippert and Ryan Castillo and fiance Danielle Carriaga; many nieces and nephews.

Viola was a long time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She will always be remembered for her love of family, her heart of gold, her kindness and generosity, her delicious cooking, infectious laugh and love of La Cueva Bears basketball.

There will be a private family service in celebration of Nana's life.

The family would like to thank the many people who have cared for Nana over the years. Most recently, the sweet Violetta Thomas, and Nana's devoted and loving friend, Kusang Chodon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to the local , PO Box 21400, Albuquerque NM 87154.
