Wallace N. Fluckey Obituary
Fluckey, Wallace N. (Wally) LTC (Retired)

Wally left us after 94 years, just before Christmas, to join Dee, the love of his life, and daughter, Sharon, in heaven.

He is survived by Bruce and Mary Fluckey, Forrest N. and Grace Fluckey, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wallace served his country in both WWII and the Korean War and retired from the US Army after 28 years. He then chose to pursue a teaching career in science to enlighten young minds. After retiring a second time, he and Dee moved to Elephant Butte, NM. He enjoyed the comradery of fellow Legionnaires, Moose members, Good Sam's, and other Veteran Organizations. He loved the outdoors and felt most at home overlooking his beloved lake.

Wally wanted to thank all his friends and family for the friendship, support and experiences that enriched his life and gave it meaning. The family would like to thank the staffs of Buena Vista Senior Care and Hospice de la Luz for the compassionate care that was provided to Wally over the last year. Thank you to Matt Fluckey (grandson) and the volunteer companion, Anne, who listened to Wally's stories and brought back memories long forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on February 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post No. 44 in Elephant Butte, NM.
